Katie O’Donnell is six years old and lives in Tampa, Florida with her parents, 1 sister and 2 brothers. At birth Katie was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder, Aicardi syndrome. Earlier this year, Katie was granted a wish by the Make a Wish foundation, which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

Allergan, the makers of Latisse launched  The LATISSE® Wishes campaign borne out of the tradition of blowing on an eyelash to make a wish come true.

And now Dr. Hunt and the Vein & Cosmetic Center of Tampa Bay is joining in the efforts to help Katie’s wishes come true!  From now through December 15, 2010, we are donating $10 of the proceeds of each kit of LATISSE® to the O’Donnel family and matching those proceeds with a check to the Tampa Make-A-Wish chapter.

Want to help make a local Tampa family’s wishes come true?  You can by purchasing LATISSE® now through December 15, 2010.

Read more about Aicardi syndrome…( can this link out so it doesn’t take up all room of e-campaign?)

Aicardi syndrome is a rare genetic disorder, one study estimates about 800 cases in the US.

Aicardi syndrome only affects females, and in very rare cases, males with Klinefelter syndrome (XXY). It is theorized to result from a defect on an x-chromosome.

Actress Brooke Shields and beauty expert to the stars Anastasia Soare will lead the campaign to generate $1 million to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

The LATISSE® Wishes campaign was borne out of the tradition of blowing on an eyelash to make a wish come true and leverages the excitement surrounding the availability of Allergan’s LATISSE® (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) 0.03%, the first and only science-based prescription treatment approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for hypotrichosis of the eyelashes (inadequate or not enough lashes) that is used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, fuller and darker.
