Breast Lift
Many women who have been pregnant, lost large amounts of weight, nurse their children, or have certain genetic predispositions may eventually experience a sagginess in the breasts caused by excess skin and fat deposits. A breast lift from Dr. G. Peter Fakhre at the Vein & Cosmetic Center of Tampa Bay can get rid of the excess and tighten the skin of the breasts for a more youthful, “perky” aesthetic. This popular breast enhancement procedure can do wonders for the appearance of the breasts and the results can look both natural and beautiful.

Breast Lift Surgery Procedure
Breast lift surgery is designed to smooth out the skin of the breasts and reduce the appearance of sag or droop. Dr. Fakhre will begin the procedure with an incision made around the dark-pigmented region surrounding the nipple (areola), down to crease of the breast. Excess skin is then removed, the remaining skin lifted and tightened, and the nipples moved to a higher position.
Breast lift surgery typically takes about two hours to complete, and can be performed under general anesthesia as an outpatient.

Breast Lift Recovery
Some swelling and bruising will occur after breast lift surgery; however, this should dissipate as the breasts heal, and any discomfort can be alleviated with medication. Any residual scarring from breast lift surgery should fade with time, but will likely never completely disappear. Dr. Fakhre will make every effort to make scarring from the procedure as light as possible. Patients are often able to resume normal daily routines after one week. Dr. Fakhre recommends that patients avoid strenuous activity and activities that put strain on the breasts for the first few weeks after surgery.
Breast lift surgery can also be combined with breast augmentation with implants for patients who would like to add volume and fullness to the breasts.
