Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)

An arm lift (brachioplasty) is designed to help you get rid of the excess fat and skin that can sometimes accumulate under the arms, giving them a somewhat flabby appearance. Dr. G. Peter Fakhre can give the arms a tighter, more fit-looking appearance.

Arm Lift Procedure

Arm lift surgery reduces excess skin and fat on the arms for a more contoured, youthful appearance. Dr. Fakhre will make an incision from the armpit to the elbow, and then remove the excess. Then, he will tighten the remaining skin and recontour the area to create an improved appearance to the arms. Although there will be a residual scar on the underside of the arm from this procedure, Dr. Fakhre will work to ensure it is as light as possible and easily hidden by clothing.

Arm lift surgery typically takes about one to two hours to complete and can be performed on an outpatient basis.

Arm Lift Recovery

Patients can typically expect some degree of soreness, bruising, and swelling in the arms in the days following a brachioplasty procedure. Pain and discomfort can be managed with medication. Limited mobility of the arms can also be expected for the first couple of weeks after surgery. Most patients are able to return to normal daily routines about one to two weeks after arm lift surgery.

Dr. G. Peter Fakhre will explain all the details of arm lift surgery at your initial consultation, and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
