Skin Tightening and Smoothing

Thermage®
Thermage® is a safe, non-invasive, clinically proven method to improve the skin’s tone, contour, and texture by stimulating natural collagen growth. A non-surgical alternative to facelift surgery, Thermage® utilizes radio frequency energy to tighten the skin and reverse the effects of facial aging. An effective tightening and smoothing technique, Thermage® requires no surgery or injections. A single treatment tightens existing collagen and stimulates new collagen production. Improvements are immediately visible and continue up to six months. The Thermage® procedure is performed in 20 minutes to two hours depending on the treatment area.
Recovery from Thermage®
Because Thermage® treatments are non-invasive, there is no downtime after treatment; patients can resume their normal routines immediately after treatment. Side effects are generally mild and may include redness, swelling, blisters, bumps and rare instances of surface irregularities. Some patients will see results soon after treatment, although in most patients they will appear gradually over two to six months.

Body by Thermage®
Body by Thermage® is a non-invasive method of tightening skin in a number of areas, giving your skin a healthier appearance and providing an alternative for those whose conditions are relatively mild and may not require surgical procedures such as liposuction and tummy tuck for effective tightening of skin. Body by Thermage® is typically used to tighten skin in areas such as:
- Abdomen
- Arms
- Thighs
- Buttocks
Body by Thermage® is very useful for women who are experiencing skin laxity after pregnancy, and those who have excess skin folds and wrinkles that can come with significant weight loss or the aging process.
The Body by Thermage® Procedure
This FDA-approved skin tightening procedure stimulates collagen beneath the skin by using radiofrequencies to heat the surface skin layers. This improves skin tone and texture, while regenerating collagen and causing it to continue to grow and improve over the following months. Only one Body by Thermage® treatment is typically required, and the procedure is virtually painless with little-to-no recovery time.

Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy is an effective, minimally-invasive alternative to liposuction for cellulite reduction and body contouring. Treatments involve the injection of fat-eliminating medications at targeted, localized pockets of fat. Mesotherapy stimulates the fat cells to shrink, allowing the body to naturally flush out these unwanted pockets. Because of the especially small syringes used for mesotherapy treatment, Dr. Jeffrey A. Hunt can provide precise body contouring with minimal trauma to tissues. Mesotherapy is an outpatient procedure typically lasting less than forty-five minutes for each session. For optimum results, 5 to 10 sessions may be recommended.
During treatments, medications consisting of nutrients, vitamins, minerals, and hyaluronic acid are injected into the mesoderm (middle layer of the skin). These medications promote the production of collagen and elastin, improving the appearance of the skin and reducing the proliferation of wrinkles. Recovery from Mesotherapy Treatment
Because mesotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure, patients can return to their daily routines immediately after treatment. Minor side effects such as bruising and swelling may occur. If multiple treatments are required, Dr. Hunt will usually wait a week between treatments in order to accurately gauge improvement. The injections are relatively painless so only topical anesthesia is required.
Mesotherapy is a natural process which works with your body. Longevity of the results will be determined in large part by your lifestyle. As with invasive procedures such as liposuction, good dietary habits and exercise are necessary to keep the fat from returning.

Over the years, mesotherapy has become a popular non-surgical alternative to liposuction. Thermage® Cellulite Treatment
Thermage® can not only be effective at rejuvenating the face, it has also proven useful for reducing the appearance of cellulite. By using radiofrequency technology, Thermage® heats the areas of cellulite and stimulates new collagen growth. This ultimately provides a smoothing of the skin and a more firm appearance, with less of the telltale signs of cellulite. The stimulated collagen will continue to grow after the initial treatment, and you should see even greater improvement in the months following the procedure. Depending on the area being treated, Thermage® cellulite procedures are typically very quick and can often be performed on your lunch hour. There are no injections involved, and the procedure is entirely non-surgical. Acoustic Wave Therapy™
Acoustic Wave Therapy™ is an advanced cellulite treatment that helps smooth skin in areas where dimpling commonly forms: the thighs, buttocks, abdomen, and arms. Acoustic Wave Therapy™ improves the skin’s appearance by causing the connective tissue to stretch, increasing elasticity. Patients typically experience improvement in the skin’s texture and elasticity as well as dermal firming. Acoustic Wave Therapy™ cellulite treatments, available to our St. Petersburg, Florida-area patients, typically last 30 minutes. For optimum results, patients may require six or more treatments.

A non-invasive procedure, Acoustic Wave Therapy™ patients can return to their daily routines immediately following treatment. Minor side effects such as bruising or swelling may occur.
