Intense Pulsed Light (IPL®) Therapy
Intense pulsed light (IPL®) therapy is a phenomenal new skin rejuvenation procedure that transforms red or blotchy skin into a radiant complexion. This non-invasive treatment uses pulses of high-intensity light (not lasers) to improve the skin’s appearance. Emitted at a variety of wavelengths, the light penetrates deep into the skin, stimulating collagen production and causing blood vessels below the epidermis to constrict. Redness and age lines are reduced with the growth of new collagen and removal of damaged skin.

Photofacial™
Photofacial™ is one form of the revolutionary skin rejuvenation treatment known as intense pulsed light (IPL®) therapy. During a Photofacial™ session, multiple wavelengths of light are emitted in a series of gentle pulses over a targeted area. This allows the light to penetrate through different levels of the skin to comprehensively correct abnormally dilated vessels and hyper-pigmentation.

PhotoDerm™
PhotoDerm™ is another method of non-invasive skin rejuvenation that utilizes intense pulsed light (IPL®) therapy to lighten dark pigmentation (melanin) in the skin, reducing the visibility of lesions and other marks.
In addition to pigmentation correction, PhotoDerm™ is an effective treatment for a variety of skin conditions, including:

Pre/Post-treatment Instructions
- Women who are pregnant or nursing an infant are not candidates for IPL® Photofacial™ or PhotoDerm™ therapy.
- Patients on a prescription drug known to be photosensitive must wait three months after completion of the medication before beginning treatments. Please contact our office if you have any questions concerning medications or skin care products you are currently taking prior to your appointment.
- Due to photosensitivity precautions, skin rejuvenation products containing glycolic acid, retinols, or Retin-A® should be stopped two days prior to treatment.
- The less sun exposure patients have, the better their treatment will be. Patients who must be in the sun need to use a sunscreen with SPF 15 or greater protection.
- DO NOT scrub the treated area with anything abrasive for at least two days after treatment.
- Wear sunscreen daily and apply chilled aloe vera gel as needed.
- DO NOT use self-tanners for two weeks before treatment.
